Childhoods

The Place of Childhood's in our Adult Life!

As a history student in college, I was struck by some things about individual historical persons. Their childhoods had common similarities and their adulthood characteristics struck me too. That was long before I learnt that childhood experiences have a great impact on our personalities as adults. Childhood experiences especially traumatic ones may influence our character formation depending on how we react towards those experiences. Therefore the responsibility of whom we become does not rely entirely on our experiences. Our decision on what happens when we become adults is entirely our own responsibility.

Through the understanding of what happened in the childhoods of the personalities am going to write about and how that influenced their adult life because of the choices they made in adulthood, I hope to help someone out there make a positive choice in life regardless of how painful their childhoods were. Unlike our childhoods where we had no control over what happened to us, we are in control of our adult life and therefore should live our lives as we wish and not focus on the painful past, carrying it on our mind like a label and trying to cause pain on those we feel hurt us. In the end, we end up punishing everyone who is around us and probably begin the same process in someone else's life.

Having loved history from childhood and teaching it in schools, children today with the current curriculum, may not have the opportunity to learn about historical personalities out of the areas not covered in the curriculum. In this blog, I will cover personalities from all over the world. As I bring out their childhoods, I will give my individual opinion on what could have influenced their positive or negative characteristics in adulthood life. I will have started a dialogue that others who support this theory of childhood are our future adulthood may add to that knowledge for the sake of future generations.
